My iPhone has done this about 5 times since I got it. I was only playing music once when it happened and the music paused.

mine has a few times while in safari. On all occasions I had about 5 tabs open and some pretty heavy websites. Maybe they were just freakin it out. All I have to do is go right back in safari and the sites I still had open are still there. Kind of odd but not really a big deal yet.

same situation here. Kinda sucks but after the return to the home menu, i clear the cache and it works a bit quicker.

Yes, this just happened to me. Next, I reopened safari and it went right back to this forum to the thread I had been viewing, but I was no longer logged in so something happened to the cookies as well, presumably.

I was going to say no but it JUST happened to me while on google maps checking for traffic.
Same here, it has only happened when I am in Maps and checking traffic on a route. It has happened 5 times, the first couple times, I thought it was something that I had done incorrectly. But by, the third time, I thought it a bug. So, I tried a couple more times to make sure. It seems to only happen when I am using satellite view and expanding the image to greater deal.

Yes. About 5 times so far. Within Safari AND Gmaps. Something they will need to fix in 1.1.:)

YES! I live in constant fear of Safari crashing. You lose your back button history when it crashes.

not always...

safari crashes on me constantly and it's insanely aggravating. sometimes my webpages are still there when i open safari again, but most of the time they are not.

safari almost always crashes on me when i click on a link trying to open a new page. when it first started, it happened very rarely, but now i almost hate using safari on my iPhone, because i know it's going to crash at any random second.

another issue i'm having is the ipod app crashing. i'll be listening to music through the headphones, and be browsing safari, and suddenly the music will stop. this has happened to me several times.

i'm so happy with iPhone overall, but these issues are driving me crazy...

That sounds like some serious issues, I haven't had those. You should get that checked out at the store soon in case an exchange is necessary.

It is not a problem. It was happening to me several times last night so I powered the phone completely off (hold down the sleep button until the "slide to power off" slider comes on and then slide to power it off). Start it back up normally and your problem will go away. I've used the phone ever since and it hasn't gone to the home screen one time since I rebooted it last night.

Try it; I think it'll help.:laugh2:

Figures, once Google Maps crashed on me once earlier today, now Safari has been crashing quite a bit while I was trying to find a local radar map.
