So an update on my previous post, I got an alert on my phone that Barclaycard was ready to be verified. I called the phone number and my card was activated and is ready to be used for Apple Pay but I noticed that Amazon is not on the list of stores yet. Apple has added two more sections from their initial list of stores that would be supported.

I used Apple Pay at Walgreens a couple of days ago. The clerk hadn't had an Apple Pay transaction before so I was his first. It was very smooth. Wells Fargo was running a $10 cash back to use Apple Pay so it was a win for me to try it out.

I used it for the first time tonight to get my son ice cream from McDonalds. It was kinda funny because when the receipt printed the cashier said "Wait, what did you do? How did you do that?" A. She didn't even know they had the capability (same on them) and B. It was so fast she totally missed it.

I can see me using this daily and stores who don't get on the NFC train are going to get left in the dust. Can't count how many times I've rushed out the house without my purse (Did it last Friday) BUT I always have the cellphone.
Just set up my Apple Pay. My question is: Do you still need a receipt from the merchant, or does it store a copy of the transaction in the iPhone, and if so, where?
thanks

You still get a receipt. Apple Pay does list your most recent transactions under the credit card.

Walmart doesn't do Apple Pay now or did they? I will and have started going there for drinks. I've only used Apple Pay once. :(

Walmart is part of that other yet to be deployed system. Generally, those guys are trying to avoid credit card company fees and restrictions. Initially they said they couldn't participate in Apply Pay because of their group's restrictive agreement ... CurrentC.

Apple Pay is still awesome. A cvs in Florida got it a week ago, and Winn dixie got it a month ago. The Winn dixie one is just a built in program in their card swipe system.

I've used it at McDonald's a few times. Today, I used it at Walgreen's. Starting to get comfortable with it.

I have my Apple Pay setup now. But I'm yet to use it. Almost scared for some reason. I read and re-read Chris' Blog post on how to do it. I guess I feel a little awkward trying it.

Don't feel awkward. It's awesome to use! People will be jealous. All you do is put your phone up to the machine and then use touch ID and bam your done. :)

Just used Apple Pay for the first time at a local grocery store. It worked great. I've noticed the Apple Pay logo on lots of readers around town at grocery stores and gas stations, but didn't realize until today that my credit union supported it. I was showing my dad how to setup a card in Passbook thinking it wouldn't accept mine, but it worked! We headed right over to the store and both used Apple Pay for the first time. My Credit Union never sent out a notice saying they got approved and I was expecting that.

Be sure to check yours again in Passbook if it didn't work before. It might be supported now.

Used at McDonalds and it worked great, but when I used it at Macy's I still had to sign after using Apple pay, kinda ruined the smoothness.

I've used Apple pay multiple times at Walgreens, but my latest trip was unsuccessful. I checked out and used Apple pay and it worked, but then forgot to enter my rewards so the clerk entered my rewards and when I tried to use Apple pay it seemed like it was working, but it wouldn't complete the transaction. I tried. Total of 3 more times and it wouldn't complete the transaction. My feeling is the clerk wasn't following through on his end to accept the payment, but I could be wrong. Has anyone else experienced using Apple pay and getting through the finger print confirmation, and then not completing the transaction? I did check my account to ensure I wasn't billed 4 times.

I was told at a CVS here that using the Apple Pay system at their location is a hit or a miss whether or not it works. On my end it showed everything was fine, but it didn't show anything on their computer system.

I just used ApplePay at Walgreens yesterday. I've used it about six times previously and it worked perfectly. Yesterday, for some reason, it accepted my phone, but still required a signature on their signature pad. The previous times I i used it, no signature was required.

FYI, I previously had all of my prescriptions refilled at CVS, but switched to Walgreens when CVS stopped accepting ApplePay. I also sent an email to Walgreens letting them know why I switched. I'm just one customer in the big scheme of things, but it's the principle of the matter for me and I moved my business to the store that accepts my preferred method of payment.

Mindi's going to the grocery store right now to buy a box of Tic Tacs so she can use Apple Pay - again. What a nerd.

EDIT: The card reader at that store didn't work, so she's headed to another grocery store to buy an as-yet undetermined cheap item so she can use her iPhone to pay. Or maybe she'll buy some gas for her car.
