PLEASE ANYONE !
its whatever you want it to be. Just plug your phone into your computer, load up iTunes, go to photo sync and choose any folder you want.

edit

If if your talking about the photos you took with your iPhone they don't get saved to your computer at all as far as im aware of. But it is easy to do so. Just go to (for PC) My Computer and towards the bottom the camera will be there called "Apple iPhone" just double click. then from there copy them over to your PC.

@OP you need to invest in some software by Tansee. Do a search for them on google, you'll find something that can transfer files from the iPhone, specifically the photo album images. They are contained in a database, and are not accessible individually as the Camera Roll pictures are.

The Photo Album pictures are all scaled down for the iPhone, they are not their original resolutions which you see on your desktop. I don't know why they do this, but they just do and it sucks. What this means is if you have lost your original photos on your desktop computer and took solace in thinking you were safe because you had them on your iPhone, you're not. Like I said, they're lower resolution and smaller dimensions than the originals and require special software to extract them from the photo album database on our iPhone.

Just to appease your curiosity, the folder is:

var/root/Media/Photos
