hello all,

I've tried to search for a solution without any luck. Here's the rundown:

I have 3.0 gm installed
I have the iTunes beta 4 installed V. 8.2b7
I have the custom .ipcc file downloaded
I'm on a MBP 10.5.7

When I shift click to upgrade it won't let me select the .ipcc file.

When I downloaded it it was called ATT_US.bundle
I tried it and it didn't work

I changed it to this ATT_US.ipcc - it didn't work

I tried ATT_US.bundle.ipcc - it didn't work.

Please help! I feel dumb.

In order to use the IPCC that allows MMS and tethering, you need the first release of iTunes 8.2. The updated 8.2 doesn't give you the option to install new IPCC files. :)

iTunes 8.2b7 is supposed to be one of the last releases that allows you to load .ipcc files. Please let me know if I'm wrong and need another version of iTunes

Did you download the ipcc file with safari? If so it probably unpacked it, download with a different browser.

Yeah b7 was the first 8.2 and it allowed the loading of ipcc files.

I have 8.2.1.6 is this too late?
iTunes 8.2 is the one where they blocked it but that doesn't mean you can't find another way around that. The only 8.2 that allowed it was the first pre-release which you don't have.

Do this to Enable IPCC Updates for iTunes 8.2:

iTunes 8.2 will not allow you to apply the IPCC updates so you need to follow these steps:

MAC OS X:

1. Close iTunes.
2. Open Terminal (Applications > Utilities > Terminal).
3. Run the command: defaults write com.apple.iTunes carrier-testing -bool TRUE.

Windows 32 Bit:

1. Close iTunes.
2. Go to Start then Run and type CMD.
3. Run this command(If you right-click on the cmd window you can paste): “C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunes.exe” /setPrefInt carrier-testing 1.

Windows 64 Bit:

1. Close iTunes.
2. Go to Start then Run and type CMD.
3. Run this command(If you right-click on the cmd window you can paste): “C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes\iTunes.exe” /setPrefInt carrier-testing 1.

No problem :eek:k:eek:k Is the file named ATT_US.ipcc exactly? iTunes will only see it if it ends in .ipcc. Also put the .ipcc on your desktop so you know where to look for it when you shift/option + check for updates. And you want the entire ipcc to be loaded on to the phone.

Also make sure you change the file type from ipsw (what iTunes will look for by default) to .ipcc.

yup. No luck. Very weird. I have the file re-named to ATT_US.ipcc and iTunes will still not recognize it. I downloaded the zip with IE7, unzipped, re-named and nothing.

Are you sure all you are copying is:

C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunes.exe” /setPrefInt carrier-testing 1

i am using 64 bit and i am pasting C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes\iTunes.exe” /setPrefInt carrier-testing 1

it says 'C:/Program' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

You'll have to re-input your APN (Cellular and MMS) under Settings > General > Network > Cellular Data Network
