So my wife and I think we want to go and buy the dvd set of the first season and start watching it before season two kicks off.

We already watch "Lost" and love it, along with several other "reality shows". So were debating on whether or not to fit this into the schedule.

We watched the first two or three episodes when it first came on, when they were discovering their powers. It seemed to drag on a bit long with the self-discovery deal so, I decided I didn't like it and discontinued watching.

Then about mid-season, you couldn't find a magazine cover without some heroes star plastered all over it, and people were talking about how great it was!

So, can I get some feedback?

Should I buy it this weekend or not?

Noah is a freshman at my school. I think he plays, Micah or something in the show?

yeah, 11 years old being a Freshman. He's so young, yet so adorable.

yes, there's 23 episodes plus the 73 minute pilot!

Only 24 days left to finish it if I'm gonna start season 2 on time!

Started pilot last nite, only got 30 minutes into it before I got to tired and had to go to bed. Not off to a good start! LoL

Did you start with the "unaired" Pilot? I'm wondering if I should watch it as the show premiered or watch the unaired premiere. Oh the decisions one must face.

We started with the unaired pilot.

I remember watching the first two or three episodes of the series when it was originally aired, and the unaired pilot seems to be the same as the first episode so far (I'm only 30 min. Into the pilot).

My wife and I did notice some subtle differences though, seems there were some character changes, nothing major though.

I'd suggest watching it. Its interesting. And who knows by the time were through watching it, and start the actual season, maybe well look back and wish we hadnt wasted 73 minutes!

I can't help but watch every snippet of all my dvd's, I have to take in the WHOLE thing, ya know!

Anyways, tell me what you think if you finish it before I do, which will be later on tonight. Thanks.

This show plays off of everyone's fantasy of "what if". What if I were a superhero? What would my powers be? What would I do with it?

Of note, the character of Hiro Nakamura was not in the original script. The wife of the creator read it and told her husband he really needed a character that embraced his powers. One that welcomed it and wished to use it for good. He then came up with Hiro! Brilliant. For that is who we would all strive to be. Or hope to be if bequeathed with a power.

Enjoy. And feel free to ask questions or comment here. There are plenty that have seen the series and can fill any blanks you have or be wise enough to let you discover things on your own.

The hype is definitely worth it, at least as far as the first season goes ;) Very rarely are there shows that make me want to watch every single episode just to find out what's going to happen. The neat thing about "Heroes" to me was seeing the speculation and speculating myself about what was going to happen. It provokes mystery and intrigue although not every episode is a shining star. There are some lackluster ones but they seem to be far and few with this series. In short, I think you will be pleasantly surprised as to how it lives up to the hype. ;)

Really big geeks like the show. Especially folks into comic books, superpowers, and the like.

Everybody that I know who watches it loves comics, knows comics, and are big geeks. LOL

Coming from a major in Film Production, I can easily say 'Heroes' has amazing writing in it, so definitely recommend it! Some other shows you might want to check out are Grey's Anatomy (with incredible writing), Ugly Betty, and Lost. I can easily say these are some of the best television shows ever.

Im trying to rent this on netflix and when I add it to my queue it gets added as an HD DVD which I do not have

Can anyone with netflix see if there is a regular DVD version to this I know on some movies they have this down arrow to switch between HD DVD BLU RAY and DVD but Heroes seems to just have HD DVD on mine at least.
