We can already do those things with apps. They need to be handled through individual apps since there is a whole slew of hardware counterparts available. I don't think Apple wouldn't have any interest in trying to control all of them.
Initially, I was guessing it was iCloud Drive, which is like DropBox and used for storing files, but I looked that up and Drive has a different icon. That will be available with iOS 8 and Yosemite or on a PC running Windows 7 or later.
