I would like to confirm if I am doing this the right way? I want to add my albums to the PC. Here are my steps. I didn't create the playlist the first time, but the millionth time I did this my music is out of order, and all messed up.

1.) Connect the iPhone to the PC

2.) On the PC, fire up iTunes

3.) locate where the music is stored in Windows Explorer since I have Windows 7

4.) drag and drop everything from where the music is stored, and drop it into iTunes. No playlist.

Am I doing this right? Am I doing something wrong? Would that be why that's my songs inside of the albums are out of order? What's the proper way of doing this?

We're going to need more specifics. How are the songs out of order? Do they not have track numbers? No artist tags?

One thing you could try is opening your library, and press ctrl+A to select all of your music. Then right click on any track, and select "Get Track Names". If any of your metadata is missing or incorrect, this might help fix it. Then re-sync your phone.

I've never been able to drag and drop music from my PC since my first iPhone, that has never worked...I usually drag it into the iTunes folder/file located on my hard drive, or depending on what kind of music file it is you can choose to open it w/iTunes, or make iTunes your default music player that way when you open the track it loads it to iTunes.

What do you mean by that? I'm confused on what you done. Did you create playlists?

Your first post was about adding albums to iTunes. Unless you were referring to playlists only which is different than what I thought you meant.

I did mean the actual albums.

How can I add the albums, so they could appear both ways in alphabetically order, and by the years of the albums? Are you able to guide me through it the way you done it? Also, when I right click on the iPhone then click sync, it doesn't sync.

As far as I know, the iPod app will not display albums chronologically no matter how you import or label them in iTunes.

Your music has to be in iTunes for iTunes to be able to add it to your iPhone. If you don't want your music in iTunes, you will have to use a third-party program to sync your phone. I haven't used any, but maybe someone else can post one.

1.) Do I sync the entire library, or what do I sync?

2.) How can I take my music that's located on my hard drive, and add it to iTunes, so I can add it to my iPhone?

1) you can sync your whole library, or only selected artists, playlists, albums, or individual songs.

2) go to Library->Add Folder to Library. Then select the folder with all of your music. If want to keep the music located in the original location, and not duplicated, go to Preferences->Advanced, and deselect "Copy files to iTunes Media folder when adding to library".
