how do i turn mp3's into caf form for ringers?

i have my custom ringtones but i need to change them into caf format to make them my text and emaill tones. someone please help me?

The "caf" files on the iPhone are actuall aif files. Use your favorite conversion utility to convert from mp3 to aif, then rename the file xxxx.aif to xxxx.caf.

that's odd because as far as I've experienced my ringers only need to be in .m4a files which is easy through iTunes. now for your alerts you may need a different file format, I'm just not sure on that. But for your ringers you can just convert to .m4a within iTunes and then putfile it onto your phone.
