i don't see any of that on my iPhone
You can't delete photos synced from iTunes, on the phone. You have to delete them in iTunes and re-sync. Welcome to iTunes. lol

I'm guessing that maybe when they add the file browser and disk mode, we may be able to do it, at that point.

I'm waiting on the saving photos from emails option. And from Safari, would be even better.

usually a window prompts me to take the pics off
I figured it out. my music are on a usb drive. I guess when i have it plugged in before the iPhone. it wont allow me to see the iPhone as a drive letter because its being used bt the usb drive.

so plugging in the iPhone first then the usb drive is the steps i need to take so it will prop the auto play for the iPhone.

thanks guys

Dude, you usually know what you're talking about, but WTF? That's not an option.

ColsTiger is correct, he's just not talking about photos you added from iTunes.

Once again, YOU CANNOT DELETE PHOTOS, VIDEO OR MUSIC ADDED WITH iTunes, FROM THE PHONE. THEY MUST BE DELETED / UNCHECKED IN iTUNES, THEN RE-SYNCED.

If this probem was not solved here is a very simple way to do this with your windows PC.

1. Go to the default folder for pictures in 'My Document'
2. Remove all the photos from it and leave it empty
3. Connect your iPhone to iTunes
4. Select the tab labelled Photo
5. Now sync your phone with the empty folder

That's it!

I know this is an old post, but I thought I would put my 2 cents in. I just installed a free application called Roll Swap. It allows you to swap the current camera roll with a different one. You can back up your photos how ever you want to, click and drag (pc) or iphoto (mac) swap the roll with the app and delete the application. When you delete the application, all data gets deleted with it. Make sure you have a copy of the photos you want to keep before you get rid of the application.

Hello! I bought my iPhone of my neighbour and Im trying to delete selected photos and I want to keep the photos of my wedding on my iPhone. what do I do? I've got iTunes, I've deleted photos that are on the camera roll, but the other photos have been placed into files and when I connect my iPhone to the pc only the camera roll comes up. I tap on the photos I choose to delete and no recycle bin shows up. I don't understand. can any one help me please

So does any one know how to delete photos not on the film roll?

Also how can you manage the photo folders?

akon, the person who wrote a reply before me mentioned had found a free application called roll swap. maybe that sounds like the way to go? but they also mention a mac, so do you think it might be for the mac and not the iPhone? don't know could always find out :)
