Wouldn't the new phone have 4G LTE? And if so you'd have to sign up for a 4G plan wouldn't you?

If the iPhone 5 is just a longer version of the 4s I'll pass. I want a bigger screen, but I want to keep the basic proportions of the current screen, or at least stay close. Just adding 1/2" at the bottom will really tick me off.

Quite a bit of relevant discussion in his thread:

Rumor: Apple Testing 3.9-inch new iPhone 5

Including this post from me:

The biggest hint that they may be leaning towards a 16:9 aspect ratio on the next device is Apple's desire to get into the TV side of the industry.
When mirroring the new device via Apple TV (and presumably directly to the Apple TV if/when it's released) it will fill the entire screen without any additional processing.
Then of course, well need a 16:9 iPad!

I'll be getting a new one for my husband. He's been so patient. :)

The caffeine made me do it. My iPhone lets me do it efficiently. ;)

I will be buying the new iPhone (whatever it's called). I'm still using my iPhone 4 from launch so I'm ready for something new.

Most of us are on iPhone 4S and still enjoying it, but I would like to know, how many of you will move to iPhone 5?

Also what features and improvement you would like to see it the next version?
Im still on my 3G. Waiting to see what features are on iPhone 5. Maybe Apple can get their S#^(t together after 4 versions & have a phone you can actually hear ring when you get a call. Come on Apple!

I have been waiting to upgrade for the last year. I skipped the 4S so I will do it for sure.

I went from 4 to 4s, unsubsidized. I have been bored with it just a few months after getting it. I'm definitely upgrading.

count me in. I would like to see bigger screen, faster cpu, better keyboard and improved text input via dictation.

If Apple manages to come up with a comfortable transparent screen on top of that, I will buy not one, but two iPhone 5-s!

I switched from a 3G, not a 3Gs, to a Droid because I was not sold on the 4 and wanted to see how the other side lived. While I have enjoyed a lot of my droid experience I will be switching back to the iPhone this fall. I am eligible for a phone upgrade on 8/19 and am crossing my fingers and eyes that a new phone is announced soon. I do not want to buy a 4s only to have the 5 announced and released a few short months later. That is exactly what happened to me with the 3G and the 3Gs.

I'm bored of my 4s. Sometimes I wonder if an iPhone is really for me because I love a physical keyboard. I do want the next one if it has a bigger screen but I'm not due for an upgrade so..we'll see what happens.

I am going to buy it...but still have my usual concerns about phone reception. AT&T fixed my problem (at my house) by giving me a 3G MicroCell. It works great but now when the new phone comes out it's going to be 4G and reception in the area of my house will be awful., I have no idea if the 3G MicroCell will work with the new phone since it's not technically really 4G... If not I may have to swtich to Verizon and see what they bring to the table.

Thoughts?

I'm really torn right now. I'm eligible for an upgrade on July 13 and want to wait until the newest iPhone comes out but with no real timetable it's frustrating. I was planning to skip the 4s but with my home button going on strike so often on my 4 I don't know if I can wait:confused:
If it's out of warranty and Apple wont cover it, take it to a shop to fix it. My GF cracked her screen and while he was in there replacing the screen I got the home button switched out, just paid the $30 extra for the piece. Works like a charm
