How much is $100 in sales to Apple really? What's the markup on accessories?

I'm curious. Does any Apple employee here know what the average markup for Apple accessories is? My guess is the $100 that we are getting is actually costing Apple something like $30 a person.

Whatever it is, it's a long shot far from $200.

No, I'm just curious. Not trying to get an argument started. I just want to know. Is that so bad?

"According to a writeup of the iSuppli analysis on BusinessWeek, the $199 2GB iPod nano costs Apple $90.18 in materials and $8 to assemble, leaving a profit margin before marketing and distribution costs of about 50%."
Aha. So going by that (and not adding store costs like employee wages, rent, and power to run the store) we are looking at a 50% markup. I wonder how the store costs would affect it.

Don't forget marketing, all those TV commercials, print ads, etc. cost millions.
