I let my brother use my iPhone and I walk into my house for a second...

...I come outside as my friends were there to pick me up, I take my iPhone and get in the car then I'm hanging out and my friend asked me to let him see my iPhone for something and he notices that there are little scuff mark scratches on 2 of the left corners, as if someone had dropped it.

I'm pissed because now I own an iPhone that has ugly scratches on two of the corners and I want a shiny new one.

I purchased it on august 6th and I'm within the return/exchange period of 14 days, I'm concerned as to whether or not I'll be able to walk into an Apple store and get a new scratch-free iPhone without having to pay some exorbitant fee.

If you bought a new car tomorrow and your brother scratched it next Saturday, would you go back and ask for a new car?

Of course not.

Dude, why are you trying to get all pissed at me?

Chill out.

I didn't drop it, my brother did, I just wanna know if there's anyway I can just walk into the Apple store and tell them I have a faulty battery or something and if they'll just hand me a new one no problem.

You know what it's not that big of a deal anyway, I'll probably just end up getting version 2.0 when it comes out, I have the money for it anyway, a lot of my friends don't even have an iPhone and here I am bitching about some scratches...

why not just give out some brownies when you get to the store? Why would you document yourself breaking the law? Not very smart. But they say pot kills brain cells...

Okay there...uh...dude.

You want a brand new shiny phone because you were careless enough to leave yours laying around where someone else got their hands on it and damaged it?!?!

Instead of trying to cheat Apple, why not talk to your brother about it. The scenario/solution you present is pathetic.

P.S. I'm waaaaaay to relaxed to be "pissed" at some anonymous person who posts on an internet forum. I don't care who you are, but I'm sorry your phone got scratched up. Deal with it without trying to screw over a company for something that's your fault or your brothers fault.

Why are you guys so surprised to see somebody smoking a little weed?
Uh oh, paranoia may be setting in

Who said anything about being surprised to see someone smoking weed? No one here cares if you smoke weed. Weed doesn't make you cool here. All we care about is your iPhone, and what you like about it and don't like...and if there's a problem we can help you solve, aside from attempting to cheat Apple out of a new phone for something they had nothing to do with, let us know.

However, the fact that your second post on this forum is a shot of you smoking weed is just silly IMO. That's all.

Ohhhhhhh, okay.

But then again, so much for a warm welcome, I own a PC but I'm planning on switching to a Mac very soon.

Wow, you really just don't get it. How do your plans to switch to a Mac relate to this conversation in any way?

You're coming to a forum of mostly Apple lovers asking if we think they'll give you a new iPhone because of accidental damage...and getting very defensive about it.

Okay, here's my official answer:

If you're the kind of person who feels comfortable cheating Apple out of a new shiny iPhone because of something you and/or your brother did, you go right ahead. You certainly wouldn't be the first. Walk right in there, lie to their face, and see if you get a new iPhone. You may or may not be successful.

Then, if you ever make it into a community college, consider taking an ethics course.

stop smoking pot and maybe you'll remember that someone(properly not youself since you're a child) payed 600 bucks for that phone and maybe youll take a little better care of it. But children usually break stuff and don't care anyway. So...

Just as an aside: I could not find the post referenced re: smoking pot.

Too bad.

I guess bookbookawesome got a little scared.

Your phone has two scratched and you're moaning about it.

Dude, it's a phone, not a fetish.
