Will I get billed If I use the internet on my Samsung Blackjack since I am using the iPhone plan? I was surprised my Blackjack works with the iPhone Sim. I'm just worried I will get billed If I use the internet. Can anyone Confirm this?

you probably will even though the iPhone has unlimited data I think the blackjack is almost like blackberry plans and has special ones but thats my take on it.. wait for another person to confirm this I wouldn't use it until you know for sure.

My guess would be yes as the unlimited pda data plan is more than the iPhone data plan. But like i said just a guess.

I was under the impression that th data and text messenging would not work if you took the sim card out and replaced it in another phone.

No you shouldn't be billed differently, the network isn't going to know if your using data on a blackjack or data on the iPhone, their both treated the same way, along with text messages.

If I keep my iPhone Simcard on my Blackjack, and RETURN my iPhone, will my Blackjack continue to work? Or once its return, my iPhone Simcard is de-activated?

Thanks

Nope. I think that you would not be charged. This is because I was using MediaNet with my unlocked Dash before switching over to the iPhone. It requires just a data plan that is the same as the iPhone. Anyway, just for your information, my previous plan was unlimited data at $19.99. Except that it does not include any free sms messages. Hope this helps.

I was told at the ATT store that only DATA would not work with other devices - all other cell services should work. If you put it in your Blackjack and try to access a website, does it work? Have you tried checking your email?

I'd be curious to know.

Also, I'm now curious about the fact that they ARE using a 3G card. Maybe that's all they issue now?

You can always access the internet with a cingular/AT&T plan. The question is whether the data will be covered by your iPhone data plan or whether you're being charged $.01/Kb?

I switch between my 8525 and my iPhone almost constantly. No problems, no issues. (I need stuff on my 8525 for work, like push email, and the ability to terminal into my servers.)

People. AT&T employees are clueless they only repeat the garbage given to them by there bosses. There is no way for them to tell what phone you are using. there is no difference with the data on windows mobile and iPhone. the visual voicemail is the only iPhone specific part of the equasion. now black berry uses a propriotory data transfer but windows mobile and iPhone do not. However the people at AT&T no nothing. they are less informed than all of us

I have a Blackjack as well, I always swap out the sim from my iPhone into the blackjack so I can use it as a modem for my laptop. ATT will have no clue what phone your sim is in, they read the sim info not phone info.

Thats a good trick! How do you pull that off though? Bluetooth or something? (The laptop to blackjack combo)

OK here it is the best way,

Connect Blackjack via USB cable to PC
Once connected go to My Computer and open your mobile phone.
Click on the windows folder.
Scroll down till you see a file called "Internet Sharing"
Right Click and create shortcut.
leave this folder open.
Go to My Computer and open Mobile Phone again.
Click on windows folder.
click on start menu.
drag the new shortcut you created (its now in the botton of the windows folder called Internet Sharing 2) to the start menu folder.
once this is done close all folders.
now on your Blackjack go to start menu and find new icon for Internet Sharing and click set settings for usb and click connect.
Make sure you turn of wireless on laptop.
Surf away
