I think screwed is a strong word. I too have lots of 30pin docks and clocks and we have had a nice 9 year run with the same connector. But that's how progress goes. Here's another option to future proof your docks.

I really don't like just having ONE cable to carry around between the house, the car and the office. Can't wait for them to make the adaptors available. I'm I the only one who feels like Apple should have included one. It couldn't have cost them any more than the bumpers and cases did for the 4.
