I'm Gonna Try The 10pm Method Tonight

I tried it last night and none were available in the 4 Apple stores within a 60 mile radius of my home. I will also try again tonight. Good luck.
I live south of Sacramento and just checked availability and there was nothing available all the way to Monterey to include SF. I will try again at 10 but it doesn't look good.

Dang at 10:01 all stores local had them I went to enter my credit info cause it asked me to but by that time they were gone said item not available at my pickup location.
Got it. I can pick it up, 64 gig black tomorrow in the Apple store closest to where I live. I am stoked. It's interesting I started at 10 and nothing was available but just kept retrying and bingo it popped up available at the Modesto Store. 
Bummer I had entered everything ahead of time so I didn't have to enter the cc data. Better luck tomorrow.
I have all my credit info save and was already past the cell carrier info I was at the cart section where you choose ship or pickup but when I choose my location it said to enter my 3 digit cc security code and I didn't have my wallet with me it was in the other room by the time I got it and entered it they were gone lol.
yes ill try again tonight if not no biggie since she's not up for a full upgrade so I still gotta pay $505 after tax for a 16gb.
This was suggested to me on Wednesday by an Apple Store Specialist. He told me they get phones every night but no guarantee they would be AT&T. The previous night they only received Sprint and Verizon phones.
I can't really do this without cancelling my AT&T order and getting them to reinstate my upgrade which at this point seems like it would be a major hassle. Even then there is no guarantee I'd get a phone using the 10 PM method.

If you go on line at 10pm and it initially shows nothing available go back one step and then try again for availability. At 10 pm last bight I hit the check availability and there was absolutely nothing in a dozen or more locations from Sacramento CA to Monterey CA, over 150 miles apart. I immediately went back one step reentered the zip code and hit the check availability again. I just couldn't accept the fact that none of these stores had anything. On the 3rd try at approximately 10:06 the store closest to my location indicated availability. I picked up my 64gig this am. I agree with brdmsd that the 16 and 32 gigs will be more difficult to find. Good luck.
Ohh no I got one in my cart but during checkout they were sold I took to long to checkout so they sold out at the store I wanted.
