iMessage on iPhone 5, rrrrrr

Why does iMessage stop working at certain times? My wife's phone is literally next to me and it will not work in wifi or 4G. It won't turn blue, constantly green. This happens sporadically.

Might be an iMessage thing. Mine 4 is doing the same thing.

iMessage is strange, sometime it works and sometimes it does not. The service does sometimes suffer outages.

Also depends on who you are messaging. If they have an iPhone and they're phone is off, it will only go through as text messages.

It also depends on carrier Internet connection, of both the sender and receiver. Luckily, the days of carriers overcharging for tiered texting plans is just about over. Most offer unlimited texting and calls with a data plan.
