Importing Pictures

I just got a new iPad and want to import pictures from my pc to the iPad. Nothing I have tried seems to work. I selected folders in iTunes and synced and nothing.

Depending on how many photos you're syncing it may take a while. I noticed that even though the iTunes sync said complete it was still moving my pictures.

It's a lot of photos, I chose the folder in iTunes, and then synced, several times using different USB ports, and both an Apple USB to dock cable and a generic cable.

iTunes closes by itself and no photos appear on the iPad.

Is there any place to see where photos are stored in iTunes, they do not show up in the library?

Photos are not stored in iTunes. They remain in the folders you selected for import. They are stored on your iPad but unless it's jailbroken you can't tell where.

They are stored on the computer, technically, but in a backup folder that really does you no good if u want to look at them. Restoring only.
