im hoping that will happen at the mall, outside the Apple sotre the day of. my small town doesn't get the iPhone craze, and i think even at 17 i'm the only one who is going to have on in skaneateles, NY
I'm sure there will be some form of publicity at the long lines, even if its not a huge story.
I can imagine the news jumping on headlines like "iPhones Sold Out in 1 Hour", but hopefully it won't happen quite like that

Yep. I did one for Cox Newspapers that ran in 16 newspapers across the country. The closest one to me was the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
I'm hoping to avoid television cameras while I'm standing in line though. I don't want the ex-wife knowing I'm laying out this cash. She'll want to take me back to court again.

There was an open call for an interviewii for the DC area posted to the board last week. (Or was it NJ?)
Anyway for those of you planning on being first in line at an Apple store expect media to show up at around 5pm. Especially if you are the only Apple store in a large area.
Media will probably be too stupid to go to an AT&T store (unless there are no Apple stores around) and they won't want to be there first thing in the morning. They will show up at 5PM and get some B-Roll of people waiting in line for the 6PM newscast. If your lucky they might want to interview the first person in line as well.
I fully expect WMUR Channel 9 to show up at the only Apple store in the state of New Hapshire only to see my ugly mugg at the head of the line!

I guess I better get some sleep so I don't look like the guy from starwars who gets hit by his own lightning.
i hope my boss doesn't see me in line...i'm supposed to be sick in bed that day! Maybe i'll wear a wig, hat and sunglasses. There is at least one celeb on this site buyng one. I'm not sure why she doesn't get a pro waiter? I'll loan her my wig/sunglasses if she buys my iPhone!
The guy that interviewed me PMed me his email address and phone number. I emailed him my number and he called in about 30 minutes. He was interviewing the Harvard Marketing professor right before me. We talked about an hour and then the next Sunday there was a piece with about seven or eight sentences in the first paragraph or two from our conversation.
