Did an iPhone the other night and just finishing up the iPad 3. Stupid host file ( windows ) got me again. Hahaha I always forget to edit it FIRST when doing a restore.
iPhone was done on another PC, so I will fess up... Got me twice.

Thats because you used the English version of Pangu...that option has been removed...
Does no one use PKGbackup anymore..? still find it the easiest method around.
I use it but it auto backed up when I went to it. But anyways it's risky to use a backup of it after re-jailbreaking.

Lost my love for PKGBackup around iOS 5. I kept having issues, and after some back and forth w/the Dev, I just lost confidence.
Since I've trimmed down my tweaks quite a bit, and find it best for my usage just to manually load anything that does not roll over from Cydia restore of paid tweaks. Also, anything I can do to reduce "other" capacity in storage ....

After having my jailbroken 5 replaced under warranty for a camera issue a few weeks ago, I was pleasantly surprised when Genius handed me a replacement that was running 7.0.4, so I was able to use evasi0n.

Was also pleasantly surprised when settings from Springtomize 3 and Messages Customiser (the 2 tweaks that have the most setup options selected) persisted through the restore process....

It may auto backup...but it doesn't stop you selecting a previous backup...if worried about installing older backup that may not be compatible with present firmware, PKGbackup has the option to check(and not install) compatibility.
Like any tool, you need to know how to use it to get the best out of it.

There is an option to not restore apps or tweaks that's not compatible with iOS 7.1 jailbreak? That's what I am referring to. I don't think it has that option. It doesn't know what works it doesn't lol.
