According to the keynote, yes the 3GS is iOS 6 compatible.

wow so the 3GS and 4 will have Siri automatically where as before only the 4S could get it.

That's correct and only the iPad 3.

If I recall correctly, Flyover (3D Maps) will not work in the iPhone 3GS.

The voice nav should still work but the flyover feature may not be available on the 3GS.

Wow, I was surprised when I saw that iOS 6 will still work with my throwback 3GS. Im holding out for a leap of an upgrade but I was thinking no way the 3GS is going to go all the way to 6. It even says it on the Apple website so its gotta be true, I wonder if there was some kind of class action or something about models being phased out too early? Or am I just making that up in my head?Anybody have any ideas? I was just curious but its nice to let the ole' 3GS in on some of the action.
