I have an easy solution for you. Buy a less expensive MacBook Pro and a iPad :).

You didn't want to wait for these?

The prices will be the same and they'll have better hardware. Best Buy has a two-week return policy if you decide to change your mind. The SuperDrive is only $80. I'd rather use that on the rare occasion that I need the drive and have a lighter/thinner MBP.
One thing driving my purchase this weekend was opportunity. I live 2.5 hours from the nearest Apple store or Best Buy. I will be back up tht way the weekend of April 7-8 and figure if the new ones come out by that time, I can go do a return/exchange. Best Buy actually has a 30 day return policy, not two weeks, so timing is good.

OK, So tonight is the night. I bought my new MacBook Pro on Friday. It has been sealed in the box ever since. Tonight I will be opening it up and starting to use it.

Any suggestions of things to start first? Any recommendations on how to transfer my music and data from my Toshiba Laptop to my MPB?

Thanks in advance for replies.

P.S. -- I also bought Apple TV. Will be installing that tonight as well.

Ok, step 1 is underway -- the transfer of my music files. 57 gigs.

Any tips on how to make it so that once I've transferred everything, the syncing of my iPhone and iPad will work on the MPB without screwing things up?

Oh crap. So I got the transfer started as noted above, and left the room. I didn't realize I hadn't plugged in the old laptop, and while I was out, the battery died. When I came back, the transfer was about 10-15% complete, and the screeon on the MPB shows the Transferring Information screen and says there is about 15 hours and 14 minutes remaining. I had to cancel the transfer on the TOshiba, and have now rebooted it, but I can't get it to recognize the MBP. How to I restart the MBP to restart the process?

Upgrading from a Mac to a Mac is a piece of cake with the Time Machine backup. You just plug in the drive and it will restore everything, it even installs your programs and your phone will be ready to sync. That being side, it's a little more work going from a PC to a Mac, but it's not too bad. Here are directions for moving your iTunes library:

If it's not responding when you press the power button, follow these steps:
