The skyrocket photos aren't bad at all. Photos are brighter but the colors are slightly washed out. Still not too bad.

great job with the comparison. I think it's the new aperture abilities of the 4S, it allows more light to come in so you can take clearer pictures in lower light, thus preserving the color and not washing things out.

Turn down the exposure and make sure to pick the most effective lighting filter on the Skyrocket.
I agree a bit of washout but at the same time bringing more background details into the photo.

I focused on the same areas to make sure the metering was the same for both devices.

Lol, I've seen photos from the 3GS. Closeups are particularly less than good IIRC

Ok, my iPhone4 took better pictures than that, they look washed out.
Close up on the second pic is not bad.

The Skyrocket's pictures are much better than I expected from one of your previous posts about how it doesn't compare to the iPhone 4S's camera. In my mind, it's just as good, although a bit brighter, but that's why you can see in the 2nd picture that the red thing it is wearing is a little washed out on the Skyrocket, unlike the iPhone 4S.

The Skyrocket can hold its own against the iP4S in good lighting.

Red flowers better on the Samsung.
Gold on the Apple.

The yard composition is slightly different so hard to make a call. If anything the greens in the Samsung a bit richer.

edit: wow, big difference when looking at the pics from the desktop. the Samsung easily wins on all the outdoor shots.

That's true, my opinion is based on those pictures posted, not based on a "professionally" conducted test, so to say.

Looks like with low lighting the skyrocket can't compete at all. What other comparison would you like to see, IP5?

I have seen phone-camera comparisons conducted professionally before on several sites but I don't think they've done one for the iPhone 4S vs. Galaxy SII yet. Let's also give ZR_Yancy credit and appreciation for what he did here. At least now I know not to use a SII in the dark.
