iPhone apps crashing, or home button problem?

Has anyone else noticed a problem, particularly in Safari, where you're reading a web page or just doing some simple navigation and suddenly the app dies, and you wind up back on the iPhone's main page ("desktop")?

I find it happens with Safari so often it renders Safari unusable.

But I've heard from other iPhone users who theorize it is actually a short-circuit in the Home button, which erroneously "thinks" it has been pressed, causing the instant exit out of the app you're in.

I'm trying to figure out if anyone else has encountered these sorts of issues with their iPhone, and what fixes there may be.

This problem is happening to me sometimes.. and also when I turn the iPhone to change the View of the screen, I need o move it a way, to make it works.

Has Happened to me, what helps is to turn the machine off Holding down the sleep button then slide to turn off. Apparently the iPhone doesn't close the Programs after you get out of them, so after a while you got all these programs running in the background which is what makes it crash. So Everynow and then turn it off and back on, atleast once a day.

This happens to me all the time. I don't know what the problem is, and I hope it will be fixed with firmware. I'm sure it will.

Yes exactly, I see this too -- I turn the iPhone to landscape mode, and boom, the app dies and suddenly I'm looking at the "desktop" again. Usually Safari.

this happens to me when I'm using the iPod on the iPhone. I'll try the powering off trick and see what happens.
