How do you make multiple backups in iTunes that are dated so if there is a problem in syncing you can reload a previous backup?

I thought that iTunes does this automatically. You need to choose which backup you would like to restore from after you have plugged the iPhone in and when you see it in iTunes, press the left mouse button and it should give you a selection of backups...

Hope this makes sense?

You should be able too. Pc or Mac?
Have to think a minute where the file on a pc is stored...
Edit: for a pc the back up files are located in
C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup

My Mac doesn't have the right click option, as far as I know, and I never see any option to find any previous backups. ?

Command-clicking should be the same as right clicking.

EDIT: I should have said Control-clicking, not Command clicking. Apologies.

You can go into settings and add the right click option for the mouse.
