That is correct. The iPhone can only connect to other iDevices via Bluetooth. It cannot connect to non-Apple phones via Bluetooth unless you jailbreak it.

The OP was asking if he could connect to a non-Apple phone via Bluetooth to transfer media. This cannot be done without jailbreaking.
