iPhone camera interface

One feature I haven't seen mentioned anywhere is the iPhone camera. Has anyone seen this feature demonstrated or have pictures of it?

From what I have read, the camera interface was not complete when Jobs gave his keynote. Since then I have not seen any information regarding it. I guess this is another thing that falls into the wait and see category.

I am also wondering if this somehow ties into one of the "secret" fetures in OSX 10.5 that have not been demo'ed yet.

Because, of all the iPhone features, the camera interface sould not be difficult to complete - just "port" the iSight software/interface to the "OSX lite" that runs the iPhone.

Photo Booth Effects!

The reason they are taking so long for the camera function I believe is because they are gonna have photo booth effects.

That'd be really difficult. Can you imagine trying to hold a camera steady with one hand while trying to pinch it with your other?

If the pinch were to work for zooming, I assume you would take a picture, then used pinch while previewing the picture to zoom in? You are right, zooming via pinch with one hand while holding the iPhone and taking the picture with the other would be crazy difficult!

Maybe its like this:


For Instance iPhone in right hand. 4 fingers on back thumb on screen. You slide your thumb from the center towards the outside To zoom in then PRESS on the screen to take the picture.

They could have a display like this.

yah it does sound like it would be hard to take a picture while zooming what if it doesn't have zoom it better though

I believe the interface for zooming will be similar to the interface for unlocking the phone - a slide to left or right.

Here is a site that claims to have pictures taken with an iPhone. I don't know if they are real or not though.

The first picture looks pretty good. If the iPhone's camera takes pictures of that quality, I will be more than satisfied.

Unfortunately it doesn't show the enlarged version of the photos. It's hard to determine the quality at this size. My atom life takes better photos at this size.

Thanks! That's not bad. I wonder what sizes are available for the camera.
