I've followed the posted instructions for running jailbreak and I cannot get past the "Sending more files... Rebooting iPhone..." stage and the phone stays showing the "Please connect to iTunes" message. I've tried it many times, and left it alone for a long time. Eventually the phone just resets itself and jailbreak displays a message saying "You gotta hold them longer than that" i'm assuming referring to the buttons. Anyone have this happen? Workaround?

try the alternative method of restarting, instead of holding the power and home button for 25 seconds (which should work) follow the alternative method of holding just the power button, switching it off, then holding both, or something, im not positive on the method, but i do know many of theh tutorials suggest an alternative power off at that stage.

Just gave that a shot but getting the same result. How long will it stay on the "Rebooting iPhone" message?
shouldnt take longer than 5 minutes from the point of /!\ Connect to iTunes

Make sure you don't have iTunes running but you do have jailbreak telling you to be at that point

good point mlass, if you failed to unzip the iPhone restore files into the folder, you may run into a problem. Also, once again, make sure iTunes is not running.

Hello - I am having the same problem. Once I do the power cycle & power button/home hold for 25sec - THe phone is at the "Connect to iTunes screen" but Jailbreak doesn't do anything. I let it sit there for 5 min.

Here is a screen shot showing what Jailbreak is doing and the files that are in my phonedmg folder.

**iTunes is not running and I went to task manager, processses I killed ipod.exe and iTuneshelper.exe

Anyone know why Jailbreak isn't copying the files?

I got it to work with some help from a person in the #iPhone channel.

I had to shut down Jailbreak. Do the power/home 25 sec procedure and then start jailbreak.

Could you share with us how you shut down jailbreak. I am having the same issue everyone else is having and I would like to know how to fix it as you have. Thanks.

The steps I was told to take were:

1) Hit the power + home buttons for 25sec
2) Once the yellow triangle with Connect to iTunes comes up start up jailbreak

at that point the files started transferring.

now the one thing I am having trouble remembering is if jailbreak asked me to do the power + home button procedure again.

The difference between what I did and all of the tutorials is that I started Jailbreak after the phone was in restore mode.

I cannot get it to go. I get to the "Connect to iTunes" screen and then the spin goes about a quarter way around, and then goes to the Apple boot up screen. Then after the phone starts up I get "You're going to have to learn to hold it longer then that, buddy!" No clue why this is doing this.

Have you killed the ipodservice.exe and iTuneshelper.exe processes?

Kill those, close out jail break.

DO the power button / home button 25 sec procedure

When the "Connect to iTunes" screen comes up, release

Double click on jailbreak (let it sit for a minute or 2)

If it prompts you to do the power button / home button 25 sec procedure, do it.
