iPhone doesn't charge at wall outlet

I've had my iPhone for about a week now and haven't really had any problems until tonight I plugged my iPhone into it's usual charger plugged into the wall and nothing.

At first I thought the USB cord wasn't plugged in or something but I ended up trying it on multiple outlets, unplugging the cord replugging the cord and it would never even acknowledge it was plugged in.

It will charge through a computer plugged into the usb port but not through the wall any more.

Any ideas on how to fix this or should I just try and take it to the Apple Store tomorrow?

Wow! I just ran into the same issue yesterday! Been charging at the wall just fine until then. Plug it in and nothing, no charging. Plug it into the MacBook and it charges just fine. Glad to hear the same from someone else. Feel free to post a follow-up if you go to the Apple store or hear anything. :)

btw when i called to ask about it the guy on the phone told me they had no known report of the phone not charging. i seems more people need to call and let them know of this problem if they are having it, even thou it wasn't an on going problem (for me at least)

I have had my iPhone for two weeks and tonight when I plugged it into wall charger...... nothing. This is the first time for this to happen. Plugged iPhone into USB connection on computer, fired right up. Switched wall charger with on that came with my Nano...... and to my surprise, it fired right up. So I tried plugging my Nano into the iPhone charger and....... nothing. My Nano charger worked on the Nano and iPhone, and the iPhone charger did not work on either the Nano or iPhone, so I think there may be some defective wall charger that came with the iPhone. Seem it took a week or two to fair, but fail they have. I will be taking my iPhone wall charger back to Apple for a replacement. On a positive note, my iPhone has not had one other problems and it is the best phone I have ever experienced. Way to go Apple.

i have also tried to reset the phone and its not working yet. when you hold the power and the home button for 20 seconds, is it supposed to automatically turn itself back on? or, do you release the buttons and restart the iPhone?

this is driving me nuts. i took the power adaptor to the Apple store twice already and it worked both times at the store. they are looking at me like i am crazy. i am now paranoid that i am not getting the right AC signal to my house but that's silly since all other electronics are working fine.

help!

I had the same problem last night - my iPhone wouldn't charge through the AC adapter, but as soon as I plugged it into my laptop, it charged just fine. I moved the AC adapter to a dozen different outlets throughout my house, and still couldn't get any juice, so I took my iPhone, AC adapter and cable to the local Apple store. The guy at the Genius Bar plugged it in, and everything worked fine. He tried plugging in an iPod and another iPhone, and they all got juice. So I took everything home and figured maybe I was going crazy.

So I got home, and guess what...same problem. No juice through the AC adapter whatsover. As a way of troubleshooting, I plugged my iPod into the same AC adapter, and NO JUICE again.

Sounds like we may have a problem with a bad batch of AC adapters, and that the problem is completely unrelated to the iPhone itself. That's the only explanation I can come up with. The fact that they couldn't replicate it in the store is puzzling. I'm going to try to get back to the Apple store tomorrow if I can, but this is getting old in a hurry.

So should i go to my Apple store tomorrow and ask for a new Ac adapter? or should i call them first? They HAVE to give me a new one right? And i didn't buy it from them i bought it from Apple, so would that matter?

yes when i reset the phone it doesn't turn back on, i have to turn it back on myself.
When I hold down Home and Sleep and keep them held down I end up seeing the "turn me off?" slider. I ignore this and keep them held down. The screen eventually goes off. I keep them held down and the device starts back up. I believe that if you turn it back on manually then the device hasn't done a complete reset.

nope the reset thing still didn't work so iam just going to go exchange my AC adapter at an Apple store. They better not give me any problems, it better be free also.
