I would have thought the challenge that Apple are basically setting for the Hackers would ensure they continue to crack their "uncrackable encryption":laugh2: (according to the guy in CPW)

i really don't like cpw! they totally misinform you - or have done to people i know and me! i went in the other day to ask whether they can buy me out of my contract cos i was tempted o get a w580i by sony..he started telling me i should downgrade my tarrif with 3 to £15 and then they can buy my contract out for like £130 or something...part from the fact that you cant infact downgrade your tariff with 3 until a certain amout of months into the tariff! even then theres a charge on downgrading! soo silly

They are silly. There are some good people in there but it takes a lot of work to find them. I met someone who works there and it turns out they are on a commission basis so you cant always trust what they say... and if you ever hear them say "FTW" you might want to tell them not to call you a F*cking time waster.

a lot of sales people are on commission...but they should know if they are going to give false information or misinform u about product or service - the customer is going to back to the shop giving them grief which isn't a good thing. just causing more trouble for themselves! i work in a sales environment but all staff members are too scared bout customers comin back to the shop cos theyve been misinformed so we don't do false info! go us!

just seems they are shooting themselves in the foot then... it'll be interesting to see how they will handle the volume of new customers with the iPhone going through them

you might want to have a look at their previously sold items just to make sure the account hasn't been stolen.

i did before buying from him. its ok hes sending the docs to paypal cos ebay have a secure process on the iPhones this time, they actually ask for the seller to send docs off to prove the phones were brought - this is before selling - this guy obviously didn't send them off that quick!

where are u based?

Well i think my friend is going back to the US on monday, so hopefully he'll send it monday/tuesday special delivery. But i think the time is more down to if customs decide to hold on to it and hopefully they wont sting me with another charge. How much did you pay for yours off ebay?

tell your friend to send it as a gift it should void any charges ... ive paid £310 in total...so far!...£290 for the phone and then £20 for p+p...i kinda forgot to ask the seller to send it as a gift though so i have a feeling i might have to pay a bit more.... i don't mind though s'long as i get it within the 4-6 days ive been told...been waitig since June for this! They did tell me that they haven't had any probs in the past with people having to pay extra..might jus be under the threshold

Thats a pretty good price. Hopefully i'm just paying face value plus p+p which should mean i actually save a few bob. I'll let him know about the gifts thing. I used to send stuff to the US as either documents or samples and seemed to pass them by every time but it was never sending electronics.

The only downside i can see by importing is the lack of warranty but the chances are after i've finished modding it i would have voided that anyway.....

I'm really excited about it! i just need to start selecting which 8gigs of music get the honor of going on it.

yep that is very true..i supose if it gos faulty youd have to sell it on ebay or something as spares or something or get someone to take a look at it to try and fix it, that was one of the things putting me off...
