iPhone owners please read- cheaper iPhone by end of year!

I'll take my touch screen iPhone over one with a wheel design any day...

I could also care less about the 3G thing at this point. Edge does great and coverage is awesome.

Same thing has happened with pretty much every new computer I have ever purchased. You buy the darn thing and the next day they announce the next version will have twice the processing power at half the cost.

It's just a fact of life in the 21st century.

problem 1 - less features?, get a blackjack or something like that. If you stood in line for an iPhone, you probably want MORE features than it currently has not less.

Problem 2 - I don't think it will be available on other networks like they claim. They have a 5 year contract with AT & T which would technically be broken

Problem 3 - this looks to me like they are referring to a foreign country, not the US so it may not really apply to all of us current customers even if 1 & 2 are not problems for you or A T & T

Have any of you been following the news on that analyst report? JP Morgan retracted the original and released a new one that basically says the original prediction was based on unconfirmed speculation.

This thread is actually already opened and I posted this there, so I will copy it to here.

Iv'e actually done some research on this. The patents which were taken out leading to the suspicion of a cheaper and likely smaller (scaled down) version of the iPhone mean nothing and here is why.

These patents, I believe there were 3 in total, were all taken out BEFORE the patents for the current iPhone features and phone itself where. What this means is that these patents could have been taking out for a number of reasons, one of course being a smaller, cheaper, iPhone but is it likely, no way. Whether that was an original prototype which they decided not to use or a patent to simply prevent other companies from developing a similar product, I would not expect Apple to release a smaller version of iPhone, at least not anytime soon.

This would be funny to see, less features, no touch screen. How painful would Cover Flow be without a touch screen. People want every cellphone for $50.00. Well, I hope they get this and feel they got their money's worth. Compared to the other trash on the market, it will still be an upgrade, but it won't be an iPhone.
