iPhone save messages?

Umm i deleted messages awhile back, so in my search bar when i type a word i can see partial of the old messages i deleted

Do the iPhone save messages?

It might be the search indexer just hasn't updated. Try going to Settings -> General -> Spotlight Search -> turn off Messages, and turn it back on.
