Have you gotten good reception with your iPhone? Would you say it is better, worse, or about the same as your last cell phone?

I think it's a bit worse than my old phone (Samsung P207). I rarely can get a signal at my work, whereas with my last phone I usually had at least 1 bar.

In basements and difficult environments the iPhone fairs worse than my old 8125 - however in clear areas my iPhone does better, as my 8125 would occasionally get poor reception in areas without obstruction.

well its really poor when I'm inside Walmart or in the mall... but it will have one or two bars and edge working ok.... Wifi in the mall is really good (BEST)

My old RAZR seemed to have a LOT better reception than the iPhone. I have been noticing that it seems that the RAZR would hold out even in low signal conditions and still work whereas the iPhone just seems to "give up" and is very very fast to disconnect me. Also it seems there are some weird things going on with the signal meter. I never really noticed that much fluctuation with my RAZR's signal bars but the iPhones seem to go crazy a lot of times going from full to none and then slowly back up to full.

Also if you are sending SMS messages the bars seem to drop when you send or receive a message and then go back up after your done sending or receiving. Has anyone else experienced any of these things? This combined with the battery issue has me wanting to take it back tomorrow and exchanging it. With all the quirks out there though I'm a little leary to try another unit for fear it could be worse!
