iPhone will not sync

basically i bought an old iPhone off of one of my friends, it is in perfect working order and everything works fine until i try and sync it with all of my music on iTunes, i plug the phone in and press sync and then it starts to run through the normal steps and it gets to number 2 and once number 2 is done it stops the sync... what is going on? im new to this iPhone stuff please someone help me!

Since you bought it off one of your friends, you should plug it into your computer, open iTunes and "Restore" the phone to factory condition. Then you can opt to sync all of your music to the iPhone. Make sure you have updated iTunes as well.
