I thought I would share my experience with you. My first iPhone was good for a few weeks until I noticed the battery cover was smaller than the metal housing and squeaked. It was a series 7 screen. So I sent it back for repair, since it was past the 14 days. Three days later the next one arrives. I feels different. Later I discovered it has a series 5 screen. The first thing I noticed was how washed out the colors were, a dead pixel, light bleeding at the bottom and a super squeaky batter cover. So I called Apple again. Here comes the free loaner phone, until another iPhone can be sent. In my opinion series 7 has the most vibrant screen. Its also has better contrast than the 5. I think its unfair how Apple can sell a high quality and low quality iPhone's to us. If you really want to notice a difference, take the iPhone in the sunlight and see where the light sensor (detects your face on the iPhone when making a call) is. On series 7 its below the earpiece, on series 5 its above the earpiece.

My light sensor is above the earpiece and yet I have the 7 series lcd (according to the field test)

that's weird because the first series 7 I had it was below the earpiece. And the one I have now is above it and towards the right. Maybe they are even more different than i thought

I am on my fourth phone, which has a "5" LCD... and my first was also a "5" LCD, the middle two phones both seemed to have much lower quality control during manufacturing and both had multiple flaws right out of the box, everything from assembly problem with misaligned seams, to faulty components, stability issues, touchscreen issues, the third wouldn't even decode video properly. Of course the one I have now is perfect and I am VERY happy with it. The units with the 5 LCD panels seem more sturdy and my personal opinion is that the screen has more vibrant color, and it is brighter and shows a truer shade of white, while the series 7 LCD panel's white looks a bit more yellow to me. Once QC comes up to par I would expect that either version should be of the same quality right off the assembly line. I think Apple 's manufacturers did whatever they could to assemble as many of these as possible to meet demand. However, when Apple starts going through all of the faulty units that have been returned I would expect them to crack down on their manufacturers in china so that they produce a more consistent high quality product.

Going forward I expect this to be much less of an issue and both LCD panels look fantastic in my opinion.

no. the 5 series is suppose to be better than the 7
according to everything ive seen, all people wanted is a 5 but for those who have 7, theyre still satisfied with it
but there are sites proven that the 5 version has brighter screen and no white dots liek the 7 have, and the 5 version doesn't have any battery problems like the 7
but thats my opion

I compared both and came away convinced the 7 series does indeed have more more contrast, and less of the "washed out" look. At first glance the 5 series look better as it seems "whiter." But on closer examination that whiteness apparently sacrifices contrast. The comparison photos I've seen here and elsewhere show this as well (less contrast on 5s).

So for me, based on what I saw--and for my tastes--I wouldn't want s 7 screen. My iPhone is fine, build-wise (nor did I detect any noticeable build issues between the 5s and 7s I looked at).
