iPhone's iPod doesn't update play dates right?

The playlist I sync to my iPhone is a random selection of songs with 'Last Played' and 'Last Skipped' not in the last 2 months. However, I keep getting songs on there that I know I just heard last week. Is the iPhone not good about syncing those dates back to iTunes or what? I mean, I know it screws up the album art constantly, but what gives on the dates?

mine updates time just fine. It even handles album art flawlessly. The trick for me was removing all the old are I had and starting fresh with the automatic art download. Then any that were missed only ask iTunes to download the art to 1 song. So long as iTunes handles the art its fine. When I started adding my own images for art, the iPhone doesn't like it

that's not true. As long as iTunes has the album you can download artwork. The most important thing is that the album name and artist name are formatted the same way the store has them. Then it will recognize it.

My cds are ripped, too and iTunes still gets the cover art for me.
