I was wondering if anyone feels that the iPhone or iOS are becoming boring.

I think you maybe right about that. Last year going from iOS 4 to iOS 5 felt like I had a new phone with all the features iOS 5 brought to my iPhone 4. But with iOS 6 well.....I think iOS becoming stale has to do with this new age changing in version numbering. While Apple hasn't gone out and pulled a Google (with Chrome) or Mozilla (with Firefox), iOS 6 doesn't feel like it should be a full number jump.
The normal format is x.y.z where x is your base, y is a major change and z is a minor change or bug fix. Apple keeps this format, but I don't feel the jump from iOS 5 to iOS 6 necessary. At most this feels like a 5.2.0 based on what was added. The majority of changes were tweaking apps such as enabled FaceTime over 3G. The biggest new feature is Do Not Disturb, but with nothing else being added besides minor tweaks, that doesn't really feel like a new iOS.
When a software jumps from one version to the next people expect a lot and that's why it feels stale even though iOS 6 was a good update. It should have been 5.2.0 and there would be no feeling of getting stale. It also could have added more features instead of the few tweaks.
That's why I left after the 3G and never looked back.Boring? yes hell yes.
Screen after screen of dead lifeless app shortcut icons, nothing more.
Nothings new, nothing has change since the first iPhone back in 07.
The only thing you can do to differentiate your precious iPhone from the guy next to you is change the wallpaper and pray he doesn't have the same one.
Jailbreak is not the answer, Apple's lagging behind the times.
Just a different look to the home screen at least the apps that are preinstalled. I don't want something dramatic or gimmicky I would like a different layout.Stale? Not really... It's stable, fast, and improving...
I'm curious as to what the OP proposes?
Widgets?
Different icons?
I'm not so sure I'd like widgets on iOS based on my experience with them on Android.. Yes they are nice they they bog the system down just like the live wallpapers do...
Every modern OS has icons so I'm not sure how to un-stale (is that a word? LOL) that..
Your avatar is creepy. You may feel that way at times and even stray for a week or so but you always come back home. Home to iOS. At least I do
