Now, I know that Cingular will be the exclusive provider. Does that mean they will sell the iPhone in their stores so we can go and play with it when it comes out? Or will be have to go to Apple stores, or can we do either.

I would really like to get my hands on one and play with one before I bought one and I don't think I'm going to have a TON of friends who are going to run out and buy one in June (mainly because I don't have a lot of friends).

What's the word on the street about demoing one of these things because buying?

They'll be available in Cingular stores and Apple stores but not from 3rd party vendors (Radio Shack, Big Box Mart, etc.). Once there, I'm sure you'll be able to lay hands on one. Once you spend the day on line, that is. :p

will they come out with a hold button like on the iPod?
If you're referring to something that prevents accidental imput, the multitouch screen requires a horizontal finger swipe before you can do anything (except, probably, answer a call or page). Consider it a "soft" hold button.
