I was having the same problem. I followed the instruction from the Europa's link and IT WORKED. I think that what it really took to solve the problem is that I had to uninstall everything in the exact order listed.
This is a partial list of what I did
.....previously, I just did uninstall of iTunes....the fix required that I follow ALL of the instructions in the correct order.
- iTunes
- QuickTime
- Apple Software Update
- Apple Mobile Device Support
- Bonjour
- Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
