I have been getting everything organized. My iTunes album, bookmarks, contacts, videos have all been updated and ready to go.

If my iTunes is already setup to synch with my ipod how am I going to use the same iTunes to synch with my iPhone? Furthermore - my iTunes library is about 50gb - since the iPhone can only handle 8gb at best - how will I be able to use my current iTunes library in coordination with my phone? I'm puzzled on this one?

you can start a playlist...label it iPhone (or whatever you want)...and when you get your iPhone you set the phone to download all songs from the "iPhone" playlist and not from the entire library. hope this helps.

Ahh - that does help. I'll have to do that.

This may be a newb question but how do you get album art onto your iTunes. i have 1,000's of songs but I don't think I have much of the album art. Any help would be great. Thanks

boy, i feel like a regular Genius Bar employee today.

this one's easy...when in iTunes (you have to be online) just right click on any song in the album and the option that is third from the bottom says "get album artwork". it should work 90% of the time...if it doesn't 1 of two things is happening. either iTunes doesn't have the album you're looking for, or your album title and artist doesn't match exactly what iTunes has (capitalization, spelling, spacing etc.)

it's a bit tedious...but your cover flow will look so much better in the end.

I have yet to do much with iTunes, other than doing the "get album artwork" option. I don't know how I am going to do my contacts yet, and I know I don't want all of my iTunes songs on my iPhone but haven't made a playlist yet. When you plug it in does it automatically start syncing or can you manually drag all of the songs in? I hope you can do it manually so I don't have to make a playlist now.

Really to kill time I am focusing on other things, otherwise it is hard to wait. Other than that, just listening to music, going on this forum, watching the keynote, and living out my normal life otherwise.

Work, and WoW take up all my time.
But at work I browse this site.... heh..

I like to follow the 1Mb is 1minute of song play rule.
It's not exact, but it's close enough.
Songs vary in length, and sound quality, so if anyone ever tells you that "this thing holds 1,000 songs" they either don't know what they are talking about, or assume you don't.

I'll have to upload a picture of my current phone when I can, and show you what I have to deal with while waiting.

As far as screen scratching easily.. Jobs said that they made the screen out of something more scratch resistant than the iPod screen.
Just don't keep your phone in the same pocket you keep your keys in, or anything else, and you should be fine.

just my 2copper pieces

What I wish is you didn't have to necessarily have album info. My entire collection is made up of artist - song name and that's it. :( Wish they just gauged what you put on there and gave you SOME sort of cover that song is on.

They expect you to purchase your songs through iTunes or any other online provider. They come with all that info, and more, already set up for you.

Of course for people like us, that's hours of organizational fun to be had.
Luckily I've already done just about all of that over the years. ;D
