Load a short DVD to iPad

Yes, it is possible. You just need a program on your computer to decode the DVD. Are you using a Mac or a PC.
On the PC, I use a free program called Videora. You run Videora, pop in the DVD, make a few menu selections, set a name and location and let it run. When it is done (time will vary with video size settings and DVD length), you will have a copy of a movie file which you drag and drop to your device or Sync.

There are tons of dvd tools @ sites like CNET - this is the place I usually look for some new software
