iMac Looking for freeware/shareware program similar to AppleWorks

Have been looking for share/freeware that I can download that is easy (comparable to Appleworks) compatible with iMac Lion OS.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I loved the ease & efficacy of Appleworks and am totally unfamiliar w/the apps out there currently offered that are wired more like windows. Don't like windows and I want my Appleworks back! This is my only gripe about Lion OS. I am an 'old dog' who doesn't like learning new tricks. (will do so if I have to...but I won't like it) What do others do?

Any help will be greatly appreciated...so, "thanks" in advance.

Just a quick note...for anyone interested. We all know that Appleworks won't work on an intel mac...but,
I put all the stuff from the old iMac put on a 3TB external HD. If you open up Appleworks from that, it will work for you. At least that way, you'll still have all the perks of intel and Appleworks availability through the EHD.

Old dogs...new tricks & all that stuff.​
