Lost ALL contacts

Hi I have the iPhone 4, this morning I was half asleep and don't know what the heck I did but ALL my phone contacts were deleted. All I had left were the text messages. I DON'T have iCloud so I cant restore it there. And I tunes I barely use it but I'm 95% sure I've sync it and saved my contacts. Problem is when I plug in pho e to iTunes, it opens up but I DON'T have the device option on the left part where they told me it would be. For the love of Christ can anyone help me. Thanks.

So when you plug your phone in, it doesn't show up in the left-hand pane in iTunes? Does your iPhone show that it is plugged in, i.e., does it start charging? You have to make sure the cable isn't bad.

Yeah it's plugged in and charging.

You may get some contacts back by importing from SIM, if you have one.

I finally got my sync going, although I was told when I right clicked my device, options restore from backup would show. But all I got was what you see in the pic. Restore to factory settings, would that erase EVERYTHING? Also half way through sync this contact box came up and it would sync the contacts in phone(new ones I remembers and saved but I need the other 250 from before. Sorry to be a jerk but I'm really lost and all help would be appreciated, THANKS!

Well it says it won't delete any contacts, so I say go for it.
