If you were jailbroken, I'd recommend planetbeing's Signal app so you could see which tower you are connected to at any given time. They may be having problems with the tower you were getting LTE on. You might be on the border of an LTE area and when you lose that signal due to poor signal strength or something, you fall back to a tower without LTE capabilities. It would be worth a shot to see if that tower is going out at times.

It's back, and if you recall I'm not jailbroken. I'm on a NEW (less than two weeks old) iPhone running 6.1.4.

Isn't there a non-jailbroken app for this? Or a website? Thanks!

How's this app:
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/find-tower-locate-all-cell/id447158532?mt=8
I don't think the stock apps show you which tower you're connected to. Signal gives detailed information about the tower such as signal strength, quality, if it's LTE, etc. The UI is really nice and you can watch it switch towers while you're traveling or see if a previously connected tower goes down.

I was on my phone late last night and noticed the LTE symbol. My phone's wifi issue still exists with the new iPhone 5, but now I can get LTE in that room. Earlier in the day it said 4G in that location. Does AT&T work on Sunday? lol

Maybe the tower got fired up on Sunday.... ;) or maybe it was already live, but had its power increased (assuming such a thing is even possible...)?

But, it's not my entire town center. Just my house and west and a few hundred feet either way. And there's no tower within that vicinity. Could AT&T be leasing space on top of one of the buildings in this area? There are a few strip malls near me and a bank.

I have LTE in West Valley north to Hwy 12.
Have not yet seen it downtown or East side of town
