haha, amusing at best. You can't take that article serious. Should I make a chart of all the stuff iPhone can do compared to that crappy Nokia.

I always give credence to 'authors' who use such educated phrases as:

's**t-chucking ape'

'finding every last **ck in the universe to suck'

'stomp your colon'

'the user-interface equivalent of a throbbing d**g'

'babies 3 feet deep in bulls**t'

'Screen turns into a smudgy piece of s**t after a few minutes of use'

Yep - the guy's a literary giant - surely worth our urgent consideration....

NOT!

Actually I thought he was very clever. I laughed my butt off. That was pretty darn funny. He also makes some very good points. The iPhone has a ways to go before it's the best phone out there. I still love mine and I'm looking forward to the SW upgrades to keep improving the product.

I gotta be honest with you...I thought that guy's article was *hilarious*!

I still wouldn't take an E70 if you gave me one, because the screen on the iPhone is light years ahead of any competition for viewing video, which is important to me. And I thought the eye candy (scrolling, zooming, flipping, etc.) would quickly wear off for me, but it hasn't. It's still just so cool, and that adds to my user experience. But it's more than that...now that I'm comfortable with how to navigate around the iPhone, the "eye candy" makes the actual using of the phone part much easier than any other phone I've ever owned.

But Maddox make some undeniable points: no voice dialing, no video recording, no MMS, and the killer: no cut and paste.

If I was him, I too would take the rest of the day off and cut and paste just because I could. Ya gotta hand it to him, he is a hoot. :)

What is really funny is that this guy probably doesn't know is that most of the things he listed that the iPhone didn't have, it will have in the future, and thereforee making it an even better phone. I like Nokia, they make great dependable phones but when it comes to looks, no way can it out perform an iPhone.

i don't kmow if any of know this, but maddox is a rather comical guy. Hw wrote the book "alphabet of manliness" on which he went through he alphabet and took each letter and wrote somthing about it that was manly. He i a literary genius and all the phrases he uses such as "crap-chucking ape" are hilarious. He has other rants on his website u should all checkout. Its notthat he is jealous of it or didn't have enough money, hes jus a funny guy. But u should all take a look a his other rants on his site as well as his book he wrote.

P.S. I wrote this on my phone so excuse my errors.

The iPhone and a WM5 device are two totally different devices for two totally different groups of people.

WM5: Uber-geeks are the target here. Fully customizable, hackable, programmable, scriptable, etc. Not easy to use if you're not an uber-geek. It's not even particularly well suited for businesss needs. It's unstable, consumes power like a no other OS on the market and its browser SUCKS. It sucks as an entertainment device (unless you think telnet is entertaining) since video playback is weak, music playback is weak and the battery sucks for anything longer than a 1 hour trip.

iPhone: Casual users are the target. People who like stylish and easy to use systems. It's not a uber-geeks phone because it lacks the ability to install 3rd party apps. You can't FTP, telnet, or drop to a command prompt. Most casual users could care less about rebooting their webserver with their telephone. But you can play LOTS of music with a very impressive and familiar interface. You can watch hours of video and still have a full charge for the phone to use the rest of the day. Entertainment is the strong point, there isn't a better phone on the market for music and video playback.

So, comparing the two phones is pointless. They are meant for two different target audiences. I think Apple has hit the nail on the head with their phone and their target audience... if you doubt this assessment, then name the WM5 phone that sold 750,000 units and caused a media buzz its first week. You can't.

Yeah, I thought his piece on the iPhone was funny. I laughed pretty hard at a few things. His use of graphics was pretty darn funny too.
