right click on the file in iTunes (Audio/video) and select "Get Info" under Options put Adjust Volume at 100%. Hope that helps sum

Check in Settings under both SOUNDS, and iPod -Volume Limit.
Make sure that both are set to max and you should be good.
I can not find "volume limit" when I click on the Ipod icon on the phone? Also sounds volume is all the way up.

I right clicked a song in Itoons that is on my phone. I got NO options choice. You must have a different version of iToons. (I have the latest) ?
Unfortunately, you're not alone with the volume issue during a call. The Apple iPhone forum is flooded with users who are experiencing the low volume problem (both from the earpiece and the speaker phone). As of now there is no fix for this. There is, however, a 3rd party fix being tested at this point.

something I just noticed is that the speaker is only on the left side of the phone. The right side is the mic.
maybe I'm just a little slow, but I just noticed this last night. Just thought i would post this in case anyone else is under the same impression I had, that both the left and right sides were speakers

I took the ringer into cool edit pro and upped the treble, lowered the bass, and upped the volume. I can definitely HEAR the ring, the quality is a little distorted because its so much louder.

I am having the same problem... Your phone is under warranty, and this can be repaired if you return to Apple... no charge

If you have low volume on calls please make sure you have removed the plastic peel from the screen. It really does wonders...

So has anyone discovered anything about making the ring and the alerts louder? I see all the posts about the volume of the call but no updates or threads on the ring volume. This one seemed to go the way of the call volume issue again.

Can anyone chime in on the ring and alert volume adjustment?

**UPDATE** Uh, never mind. I found the volume slider in Settings>Sounds. Man, that must have come with one of the updates! NICE.

For those who want a really loud ring tone and has a Mac, you can find it at Library>Audio>Apple Loops>Apple>iLife Sound Effects>Work-Home>Cell Phone Ringing.
I imported this audio file to iTunes as mp3, dragged it to iFuntastic v.3 Ringtone page and voila! This ring is super loud (sounds almost like the ring tone used in the iPhone commercials). I heard it even while shopping at Abercrombie and Fitch! Hope it works for you :)
