When I went into the Apple store not so long ago they gave me advice on what to do on release day. They said it would be helpful if i signed up on the personal shopping list on the day of the event. So on the 15th I will sign up for the 6Pm time slot, thus allowing me to get personal assitance while others wait in line when it is released. Go here to sign up. Only 14 days in advance. Hope that helps on launch day:laugh2:

What is Personal Shopping?
Personal Shopping is a whole new way to shop at the Apple Store. A free service where you and a dedicated Mac Specialist explore and test-drive products to find out which ones are best for you. We know the store can be busy, so when you’re ready to talk, Personal Shopping is a way for us to give you our undivided attention.

How should I prepare for my Personal Shopping session?
Start by registering online, then select which product or products you’d like to learn more about. You’re welcome to come in with a list of questions, but it’s not necessary. When you arrive at the store, a Mac Specialist will be waiting for you.

I could get up to June 27th.

Good idea but I would be surprised if this worked. There are only three options given for 'Concierge' service. Mac, iPod, and AppleTV. No iPhone.

If you were able to sign up for the 6PM time slot on the 29th you would have to pick Mac, iPod, or AppleTV. I don't think they will let you change it to iPhone once you get to the store.

Besides can you imagine the riot that would break out if they allowed people to 'jump' the line?

As for that June 16th date you got, you need to press the arrow button that takes you through the calendar. June 16th is the last day you see without pressing anything.

If you guys want to sign up, 12Am on the 15th is the day. The lady told me that an iPhone choice on the menu will be added that day.

That's some quick thinking there, but let's hide this post till I get my reservation in.

I got $20 that says there will be NO iPhone option added to the conciege service until well after the 29th of June
You are 100% correct. The personal shoppers are not working on the 29th. This is to allow more room in the store for the heards of customers.

How do you know that there will be no iPhoneoption added?
common sense, that would be riduculous if there were people camping there for twenty four hours, and at 5:59 you walk into the Apple store, in front of all the tired, impacient campers, and i personal shopper meets you at the door in leads you to the stands of iPhones.

Its not going to be like that. They are just going to be able to help you, and answer questions with you while you are buing it. You will still ahve to wait in line. The advantage is that someone will be able to discuss plans with you, while everybody else is rushed.

Ok, so what time do you make your appointment for? If you make your appointment for 6PM and you are at the end of the line your appointment will have come and gone before you get to the front.

I guess we will find out tomorrow if the iPhone option gets added to the concierge service or not. I'll double my $20 and make it $40 that it will not be offered.
