just ordered the black case with a grey stripe....
One Question:
I love the look of the semi-matte leather that the website, and colors like red and blue show off, but in some of the images posted here the BLACK finish shows as quite glossy? To the guys who have a black case, is it just your camera flash or lighting that causes this? or is the case indeed a high shine leather?

Thanks!
I have a few pics of my black case earlier in this thread. Those shots were taken with flash from a short distance, and that's the most "reflective" the case has ever appeared. In daily use, the case has a pleasing (to me) semi-matte finish that reflects some, but not too much, light.

I think that the biggest issue for anyone considering the case with the flap is the flap itself. It does take a bit of effort to open, as you'd expect. That hasn't bothered me, though I can see where some people might not like it.

Yeah, that's what I thought. I wouldn't feel all that comfortable with adhering the clip to the back of the case just using the adhesive. I guess I'll just have to live with carrying it around in my pocket.
I just took a look at the Rivet Web site. In all the pics and animations I saw, the clip was attached directly to the device. Still, adhesives these days are pretty strong. It's possible that you could bond the clip to the leather case sufficiently well to withstand considerable force, either using Rivet's adhesive disk or some other glue. (I have a small telescope that has a metal piece that I once glued on, and that was about 40 years ago!)

You might try contacting Rivet directly.

Hey they look pretty cool, although I'm a big fan of iSkin myself, I'd get one of these if still available in black

i just checked the vaja site this morning and saw that they have some additional i-volution cases with flaps to cover the screen available now.

whenever i get a new phone or any gadget, i buy about 5 cases for it since i always want different options to carry it and different styles for different activities. but i'm thinking i really like my iPhone naked (except for a brando screen protector) and the vaja pouch case i just got works really well. plus, i have the pro-clip cradle to mount the iPhone in my car on the dashboard, and taking it in and out of anything but a pouch case isn't practical. so, i think i'll pass on this i-volution case for the moment, but i'm sure i'll continue to be tempted and will probably break down and get one anyway in the next few months... :p

if you've never had a vaja case before, they are absolutely lovely - high quality leather, hand-made, and sturdy. expensive, but you get what you pay for...
I love the Vaja iVolution case I got for my iPod a couple of years ago. You're right, their custom cases are high quality and well made -- the ones I saw on the shelf at the Apple store were much lower-end and not nearly as nice; I'm not sure they even distribute those anymore.

My iVolution case for iPhone arrived last week, and though it's still a well made product, I'm disappointed in the design. First, the home button hole is covered with leather that makes its response somewhat mushy -- the double-click feature of 1.1.1 is very hard to use reliably. Second, the case is thick and getting my ear close enough to hear my phone conversation is difficult in quiet settings, and nearly impossible when there's much ambient noise.

80 bucks ! wow expensive.
yes indeed.. because it makes by genuine leather :D
but don't ya think putting the tight leather case such as vaja can damage the cover of the beautiful iPhone ( e.g: scratch it up )?:)

The inside of the case is nicely lined so unless you get some grit inside, it should be fine.

i saw that case model on vaja's site and they look great. i'm sorry to hear that it's not working out all that well for you. i vote you sell that one on ebay and get the holster case with the flip cover - once you open the flip, there's nothing blocking the home button or the earpiece so you wouldn't have those problems! ;)

After using my Vaja holster case for a few weeks, I thought that I'd post a few comments for anyone contemplating buying one:

1. The leather does show some wear - like other leathers, it picks up gouges and scratches. For me, it's most vulnerable when I'm driving and carrying the iPhone on my belt clip. The case rubs against the seat belt, which also pushes other stuff on my belt (such as my pager) against it. Lately, I've taken to putting the iPhone in my shirt pocket before I get into my car, which should also make it easier to reach.

2. Flipping the cover to use the iPhone doesn't bother me - I can do it one-handed, nor am I bothered by the dangling cover. It also doesn't seem to be losing its grip at the top yet.

3. The Rivet belt clip is very secure. I have no worries about the phone dropping to the floor. In fact, it's sometimes difficult to release the iPhone because the release button is on the left and hard to reach. I'd prefer having buttons on both sides. Overall, though, I prefer this to a clip that's too loose.

4. Is it worth $100? It is, to me. I really like the look and feel of the case, and my previous Vaja case has lasted six years so far.

I like the look of the new ivolution crystal case. A lot more $ though. Maybe for Christmas. I am really considering a vaja case. I went to the Apple store today and most of the cases there don't seem as good quality as Vaja.

iVolution and Classic Pouch Pics

I got my iPhone iVolution and Classic Pouch (for the wife - she keeps hers in her big purse) today!
Both are beautiful. I noticed that the Pouches are no longer on the Vaja website !?! Strange. Anyway, here are pics for your pleasure.... plus some extra pics of my iVolution Treo 700w (same blue/black color) to compare:

Just picked up my iPhone yesterday and getting used to it, coming from a blackberry. Looking for a puch type or simple case to use for putting the phone in my pocket or on my hip but want to be able to easily remove it for use or sitting on my desk. Does any one have experience with these or something similar and where to buy?

Thanks, the Sena case is just what I wanted for in the pocket and I'll look for a horizontal belt case for when I need that.

Now to figure out how to use the phone! :laugh2:
