I got the I-Volution top holster. It's a birthday present, so I don't know if the wife ordered with a red stripe or plain black. I got the Rivet system too.
Should be here tomorrow! :D

I finally got around to ordering one today: all black, rivet clip, no personalization. The site quoted a 10 day prep time, which is much less than what I've been hearing. Maybe because of the single color scheme.

I just got an email from Vaja saying the classic case has been redesigned. Apparently, the case was in fact blocking the sensors on the top of the iPhone. They told me the updated design will be on the website, but it's not there yet. They offered a 50% discount on my order or allowed me to cancel the order.

I ordered the classic case two weeks ago and got the same e-mail today as Quake stated above.

So I'm figuring at least another three weeks before I can hope to have the case.

Right there with you guys, I got the e-mail this morning asking if I'd like to cancel my order or receive 50% off and wait another 10 days + shipping. I'm glad they tested the case further and at least they're offering the discount but the wait's already been long enough! Now it's just another couple of weeks of guarding my iPhone with my life. hahaha

Update:

I emailed them back and asked when the updated images would be on their site and I was told tomorrow. The classic case is no longer on their site, so maybe they're going to be updating it sooner.

I ordered the Top SP Holster on Aug 23rd. (Black with Blue stripe) The production time when I placed my order was 25 days. Vaja's website currently states a 10 day production time for that case. It seems they have decreased their production time... I hope I get mine in 10 days instead of 25.

Changes to Site re iPhone cases

Has anyone else noticed some changes on the Vaja site regarding the iPhone cases? They no longer have the dockable case pictured nor do they have the statement "more models coming soon." Just wondering.

I'm awaiting a Provincial Blue Top Holster case. I ordered it the 23rd and I sure hope they notify me of a shorter production time!

Here's the pic of the redesigned case. The new opening looks off center, but I still like it, I think. Anyway, with a 50% discount, I can afford to not like it and try something else later on.

Got mine a few days ago and have been trying it out. It's this item:
ivolution Top SP Holster
Color-scheme: Caterina Friar Brown/Caterina Brownie
It fits very nicely (snug), but it's also easy to remove (although I have tried just leaving it on and getting used to it). I like the leather - very nice. This is very well made - period. It still fits nicely in my pocket. This was important to me as I am not a "clip" person.

Arrived Today

My Vaja case arrived today. I ordered it August 5.

These are the specifics:

1 ivolution Top SP Holster - for Apple iPhone
Material Combination: Caterina - Caterina
Color-scheme: Caterina Ruby Wine/Caterina Black
Personalization: No
Backside: Without Clip

It is really quite nice. After I have a chance to try it out for a few days I will post some thoughts, and some pictures. But as of now, it seems to be wonderful.

I too was led into the nice photos on the Vaja site.. smooth contours, high quality looks.... I ordered one for my Sony Ericsson M600i-- after a couple of months it came in from somewhere in south america, Argentina maybe.. um.. it was pretty rough.. the leather work was 2nd rate, the leather was not skived properly, the tanning was uneven, the leather was stretched over a plastic frame, but rather roughly done.. glue was all over it.. I had ordered it in a custom color, so it was not really returnable, I just chucked it in my closet and chalked it up as experience.. Beware..

AFAIK, Vaja's cases have always come from Argentina. That didn't bother me when I bought one six years ago, and it doesn't now.

Sorry you had such a bad experience. What did Vaja say about it? As expensive as their cases are, I would have pressed them for a new case or a refund.

Quick Review

I just received my Vaja case today. I ordered the Ivolution Top SP Holster. I opted not for the clip since im more of a pocket person. My color choice was Dusty Olive w/ a birch Stripe.

My first impression of this case was WOW. The Leather looked and felt great, not to mention how good it smelled. I love the grain on the leather, and I could tell the build quality and level of detail is great. My iPhone fit into it very snug but without effort. Its pretty thin and doesn't add a lot of bulk to the phone, which I appreciate very much. The front flap snaps into place without much effort and comes off just as easy. You hold it and open it all with one hand. You can either leave the flap hanging or flip it around to the back while you do whatever activity your doing, and I didn't find it obtrusive at all.

I do have a couple of minor concerns.
1. I know the leather will get dirty. That just comes with the territory. Hopefully it wont be to hard to clean and keep soft. The colors I chose, especially the birch stripe, will attract dirt. So keep that in mind while you order.

2. How well this will hold up. This is my first case from Vaja, although i have read nothing but good things, so Im curious about the clip on top. Hopefully whatever clasp in under the leather doesn't become exposed to soon. If it happens after a year or two, im willing to accept that as the life of the product and not a defect.

As you can tell I am very happy with my purchase. Easily the best case I have seen, not only for the iPhone, but any phone ive had. I will definitely be buying from them again. I will probably get another one of these cases but with a clip for work. Below is a link to a few pictures of my case so you can see the color combo, although they aren't the best quality. Thanks for everyone who recommend this case. You were right on.

yeah, nothing wrong with Argentina, I was just so put off by the quality, I just ditched the whole experience in my closet.... I should have requested a replacement.. oh well.. I kinda ordered it just to see how it was made.. I'm making some now with some friends.. When we get the protos back from the factory in asia, I'll post some pics..

There are lots of leather care products that should help you keep it looking good. I really like your color combination, though I opted for basic black without any stripe.

If it means anything, my Vaja PDA case has held up very well for six years, including the snap on the back. The leather is a bit worn, but it has a smooth, shiny finish that shows scuffs and scratches more than the matte finish on the new cases is likely to.

I'm hopeful that the top clasp and the rivet clip on the new case will hold up too. I was going to omit the belt clip, since I usually carry the iPhone in my pocket. But I figured a clip would be good for those few times that I don't have a pocket to carry it, and it might help if I were to sell the iPhone and case.

Sounds cool... I'll look forward to seeing pics.

I wonder what would happen if you returned your Vaja case with a letter detailing your experience. Who knows? You might be pleasantly surprised.
