Motorola Hf850 car kit owners - look in here!

Just out of curiosity, but have you tried this kit with WiFi turned off? I've heard reports of improved car kit functionality with WiFi turned off. I'm not sure how and if this would apply to the Moto unit.

HF850 Paired But Not Functional
Besides the significant synching issue, which may be a deal breaker, I really rely on my HF850 in the car. I also am disappointed that there is no voice command dialing option on the iPhone. (Just a side commentary.)
I am going to try turning off wi fi to see if that proves helpful. TIA for any other comments!
My 850 appears to have paired with my iPhone but I cannot hear anything at all. The 850 seems to be incompatible..... Is this the experience others are having? I am having lots of issues with my iPhone. (Had it three days now and spent most of this time trying to get it to synch with Outlook 2003 and other "fun.")

UPDATE: I did turn Wi Fi off and successfuly got the 850 to pair. I made one phone call using the hands free kit. I tried using the hands free kit again today with Wi Fi off and again was unable to communicate hands free. This is (another) inconsistent "bug" with the iPhone at this point in time....

After quite a bit of trial and error, I was successful in getting my HF850 in my Saab 9-3 to connect to my iPhone. As others have suggested, I turned the wifi off. Once it comes up with the "not paired" message, I selected that, and it asked for my PIN which was the default of 0000. After pushing the green button on the hands-free, I was able to make a call. I don't know if I can receive calls (yet).
It does not appear that the call buttons on my steering wheel work, but they didn't work with my Razr, either. Anyone have suggestions for that?

I have a Motorola HF 820 which worked fine before I did the update. Now it works intermittely--I can hear the person I called quite well but they can barely (or sometimes not at all) hear me. Tried a couple of things a few minutes ago...
1. Tried using BT with the iPhone plugged into the car charger--same problem as above.
2. Tried turning off the WiFi--the BT worked--at least that one time.
Will try again later on.
Update--add the Motorola HF 820 to the list of blue tooth devices that do not work with the iPhone. My 820 works erratically cannot be depended on--usually when I make or receive a call, the person on the other end cannot hear me. It seems that when a call is made or received, both the BT device and the iPhone somehow are connected and neither works.
How to Get your HF850 to work with iPhone
Just switched to iPhone from MotoQ and have a HF850 in my 2006 Toyota Avalon.
I was told by AT&T when purchasing the iPhone the HF850 was not supported at all. This is partially true.
Here is how to make your HF850 work with your iPhone.
1. Pair your HF850 with the iPhone in settings(enter passcode: usually "0000"). Make sure your HF850 is in pairing mode.
2. Make sure your HF850 center blue button is on indicating a bluetooth connection.
3. Press the green "voice dial" button and hold for a second
4. Your stereo will cut out if on and you should hear the light hiss of blue tooth in your car's speakers.
5. Initiate a phone call from your iPhone
6. The iPhone will disconnect from HF850 when call is terminated
Just keep in mind you must press the voice-dial button to get the HF850 to pair.
Not perfect, but better than no car kit!
