Well, my 3G has been lagging quite allot lately, and some of the apps were also crashing once in a while....So, I did a restore, and, works like new now!

I started to notice a very long responce time after I installed Navigon on the phone, the app would also crash allot too. After getting fed up, I finally decided to do a restore about a week ago, and Navigon hasn't crashed once since then, and it also seems to respond much better too. This was the first time I had restored the phone since I had it jailbroken, before 3.0 came out.

I recommend anyone restore their 3G if they are experiencing an increase in lag, or crashing apps. Just make sure you restore from backup.

Glad to hear it worked out so well for you. :)

I'll bet that there are a lot of 3g phones out there that would benefit from a restore.

Did you re-jailbrake with 3.1.3, seems to be never-never land out there in 3.1.3 jailbrake land?

Believe it or not, after 3.0 came out, I never jailbroke it again. I was so happy with the features that came with the update, that I didn't find the need to jailbreak again. Don't get me wrong...I miss the themes part, and sbs, but, I was one of those people that was never completely satisfied with the way my phone was working while it was jailbroken.

Maybe when I upgrade to the new iPhone this summer I might consider trying to jailbreak again. But for now, A2DP bluetooth, my Navigon, Facebook, Twitter, and a couple of other Apple apps keep me satisfied enough not to jailbreak. But then again, maybe the next iPhone won't need to be jailbroken...LOL

I'm getting slow times now to. I'm JB on 3.1.2. I would like to keep cause of the weather icon. I must be an idiot. How do you restore from back-up? Every time I hit restore its telling me that it will upgrade to the newest software.
Can some one help out with this?

@canamera
whe you say restore from back up are you restoring firmware first
then restoring settings from backup made in iTunes.

@tate
make sure that you have the 3.1.2 firmware saved on your computer somewhere.
hold down the shift key or alt key and hit restore. It will allow you to pick the location of the 3.1.2 firmware so you will not have to upgrade.

yes I must need to get that somewhere cause when I hold down the shift key I see now. But it only say 3.0, so I must need to save that to my desk top somewhere.

Also make sure you down load the firmware that has 1,2 this is for the 3G iPhone.

Good luck probably going to do mine tonight. Just getting off work.
Mine has been a little slow.

I would still like to keep weather icon also so I'll see how it goes.
